Silence of the beeps 

I can't aford high end equipment so I'm out filming my hunts by my self with a Sony family cam corder. My biggest problem is the beeps it makes when it turns on. I put tape over the speaker which helps, but was wondering if there was a way to disable the sounds?

If not are there reasonable camcorders (1000 or less) out there that are silent?

Hey Frank,

There should be in your menu, then go to something that will say camera set up options and there should be something there to have you turn the sound off.  Hopefully this works! If not, you can always buy a Sony PD 170 for pretty cheap, you will probably get the best deal off Ebay. Let us know what you find out! Good luck out there filming!

Well don't I feel silly.

Sure enough, I searched through the menu and was able to turn off the beeps.

Now I just have to wait until October to get  a big buck on film. Thanks for the help.
